Introduction
This policy relates to this Website and the Bugle mailing list. It describes what data we collect, how we use it and your rights and our policies to keep it private. We do not share any information with third parties. Any issues not covered here can be taken up with the Website Administrator or Captain.
Website
No personal data is collected whilst browsing the website. The webserver has standard logs recording the IP and pages requests. These logs are not normally accessed by anyone. They are only used to diagnose any website operational issues on behalf of the Website Administrator. This would include finding website problems and combatting Denial of Service attacks. The website operates from a UK controlled server of Brainstorm Systems Ltd located in the EU.
In reports and news on the website we seek wherever practically possible to protect the privacy of club members and riders from parties outside the club by using partially redacted names eg: John S or Jane D.
The Gazette
Subscribing to the Gazette means your email address is added to a list held and operated for us by Mailchimp in the USA. Only the Website Administrator, Captain and Membership Secretary has access to this list which includes both club members and non-members.
Subscribers can optionally add their names and administer their preferences by following the links at the bottom of all newsletters. The mailing system does record the distributing of newsletters and whether embedded images have been opened and links followed. This allows us to monitor the popularity of each newletter and clear the deadwood. It is not used to monitor the habits any individual.
As above, whenever possible, we redact the full names of club members and riders to protect their privacy from outsiders.
